Drawing with clay and water: movement and emotion

The workshop took place besides a series of Baroque statues of virtues and vices in front of Kuks Hospital, a World Heritage site in the Czech countryside.

During the short but intense workshop, participants drew with clay and water using gestures and movement to express emotions.

Through this physical approach to drawing, they came to understand more about Baroque sculpture and found further inspiration for their own ceramic sculpture based on the human figure.

The workshop concluded a week-long ceramic sculpture course for 10 local adult learners, men and women aged between 40 – 60 years, with practical experience of ceramics but not of drawing.
