Flower Power Workshops

Location:
Limburgs Museum – The Netherlands

For the second time during the National Museum Weekend in the Netherlands, various museums and art centres from the province of Limburg participated in the Campaign for Drawing project by developing and putting into practice numerous workshops and drawing activities for children as well as for adults.

What
The Flower Power workshops contained three main drawing activities Brei, Punnik of Haak Mee, Schilder Samen op de Wand and Bloemenpracht en Hippie Bloemen. The first two activities were directed towards the general public and introduced the public to a new kind of drawing, namely, on the grass in the park and in the foyer of the museum where visitors could participate in a seven meter mural drawing activity.

The third activity, was especially designed and directed towards the younger audience, children between six and twelve years old. This drawing activity was composed of two stages, a first one in which children had to make flowers from coloured tissue paper, and a second stage, in which, to their surprise, they had to make drawings by using the their own made tissue flowers.
