Artists In Common
Organised by Donna Bompass
Celebrating art and learning in the community
More ambitious every year, an indefatigable team led by Donna Bompas, excelled itself with a day crammed full of creative activities, adventures, live music and story-telling. Children, who had prepared by studying British painters and artworks in their classrooms prior to the day, were invited to create their own masterpieces from a wide range of media. Inspired by old masters (Constable, Turner Stubbs etc), they experimented with watercolours, murals and sculptures (in paper, soap and clay), jewellery, lanterns and t-shirts. Stationed around thirty hand-painted gazebos, the Chislehurst community of all ages enjoyed letting their imaginations run riot.
