Enchanted Shadow Drawings
Organised by artists Barbara Beyer, Andrea Morreau and Susan Feldman
The newly re-opened Community Centre was the perfect platform for an unusual day of creative activities, which brought people together to reflect on photographs and a timeline of their local environment. A temporary shed was constructed indoors, and gradually filled with sheets of transparent acetate, covered with participants’ drawings of the neighbourhood. Once assembled, a light was shone through the layered sheets, turning the construction into a giant slide viewer. Participants and visitors saw this the intricate installation through peepholes in the shed walls. This unusual device produced a celebratory atmosphere and enchanting outcome.
