Society of Architectural Illustration Award 2010
Location:
Artists Open Shop, West Worthing

Hazel Imbert, Project Co-Ordinator

Residents of all ages came together for this dynamic drawing event. They depicted their town and told their stories through drawing, resulting in a unique installation of layered acetate drawings. Taking over the library, museum, hospitals, schools and even a pop up arts shop, a range of activities focussed on finding unique local architectural features.  Held over four Saturdays and a total of ten sessions, the event involved schoolchildren, parents, stroke rehabilitation patients and nursing staff, and helped people rediscover everyday panoramas on their own doorstep.

Society of Architectural Illustration Award

The Society of Architectural Illustration (SAI) aims to promote public knowledge of architectural illustration and to interpret architecture for the public benefit.

This award recognises events that encourage direct illustration of the built environment, historic or contemporary, and raise awareness and understanding of local buildings and their impact on townscapes, or rural life.
