Urban Patchwork

Our Hut is a small South London organisation which specialises in built environment education.

Families took part in a half-day workshop focusing on St Paul’s Church, Clapham.

They made small concertina books to collect rubbings and observational drawings of the church’s interior and exterior, its landscape and nearby buildings.

The group’s individual studies were collected together to create a large-scale reproduction of the patterns and features of the local townscape and displayed in celebration on a gazebo frame.

Society of Architectural Illustration Award

The Society of Architectural Illustration (SAI) aims to promote public knowledge of architectural illustration and to interpret architecture for the public benefit.

This award recognises events that encourage direct illustration of the built environment, historic or contemporary, and raise awareness and understanding of local buildings and their impact on townscapes, or rural life.
